Zakatul Fitr
Zakatul fitr is charity taken for the poor a few days before the end of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. The Arabic word Fitr means the same as iftar, breaking a fast. This form of zakat is usually collected in the form of non-perishable food items or its equivalent $ amount. The average amount due in the USA is usually around dollar value amount of $10 per household member and must be collected before the day of Eid. The goal is that every muslim will have the chance to eat a decent meal on the day of Eid.

Zakatul Mal
As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, zakat is a religious obligation for all Muslims who meet the necessary criteria of wealth. It is a mandatory charitable contribution given to the poor or those in need of assistance.
Zakat is based on 2.5% (1/40th) of a Muslim's total savings and wealth above a minimum amount of wealth known as nisab.

Sadaqah
'Sadaqah' literally means 'righteousness' and refers to the voluntary giving of alms or charity. But in Islamic terminology; Sadaqah has been defined as an act of "Giving something to somebody without seeking a substitute in return and with the intention of pleasing Allah.
